UNICEF Germany - www.unicef.de

The German UNICEF committee was established in 1953 and employs 75 dedicated employees in the Administrative Office in Cologne and a further 8,000 volunteers in 130 cities and towns. The organization's patron is Eva Luise Köhler, the wife of the German President.

In the year 2008 contributions to UNICEF totaled 72,5 Million – 84,9% of that flowed into its project work. Thus the organization's expenses equal 15,1% (including PR and advertising). All donations are contributed by individuals or private organizations - UNICEF receives no government contributions.

As a special form of gift UNICEF offers the possibility of establishing a dependent trust, fiducially managed by UNICEF in accordance with the founders' guidelines. It is such a dependent foundation, under one umbrella with UNICEF, which is the "Tashi Foundation for Bhutan by Constanze and Oliver Niedermaier and UNICEF".
